SUMMARY:(blurb taken from author's site)
Lives have been lost―dreams stolen, but love carves a path to hope.
Tess Jennings has the ability to see and talk to spirits. On a daily basis, they harass and annoy her to save their souls. Sometimes she helps, other times she ignores them, but one ghost will give her no choice. Kipp McGowan, a cop with the Memphis Police Department, uses his ghostly charms to gain her attention and forces her to expose herself to his partner.
As she’s pulled into the five year old cold case of Hannah Reid she wants no part of, she finds herself in more than one precarious situation. But that’s the least of her worries―Tess begins to have a serious problem on her hands. Kipp might be dead, but he’s drop-dead gorgeous and she’s beginning to forget that he’s a ghost.
Murder and corruption has brought Tess and Kipp together. But as her feelings for Kipp deepen, she suspects she just signed herself up for a one-way ticket to the nut house, and can only hope, straitjackets come in a size four.
“If I was him, I would have had you back in my bed the moment I laid eyes on you.”
With a flick of my hair to dismiss him, I started down the street and soon I rounded onto Third Street. The ghost tried again, a little louder and more abrupt this time. “Dammit woman! Will you stop ignoring me?It’s annoying.”
I’m annoying him? I wanted to laugh at the ridiculous notion, but it would only give me away. So instead, I kept my eyes glued to the street in front of me, wanting nothing more than to be home.
I have fallen in love with a ghost and feel no shame! Stolen Dreams took 'till death do us part to a whole new level! The plot was unique and refreshing, grabbed my attention the minute Kipp's ghost floated onto the page and didn't let go until I'd finished every page. The story enchanted my mind and imagination and the spell was not broken until I read the last two words...the end!
The author created a story that took an ordinary woman who had suffered loss and injury from a car accident, gave her an extraordinary 'gift' and has now started telling her journey through life with this gift. After many years of trying to forget, suppress, and ignore her past, Tess is thrust into the middle of solving a murder case in order to help save the soul of a murder victim. Of course, she would still be happily living in denial as she had for so long, if it hadn't been for one bossy, arrogant, sexy as hell...ghost! And believe me, the passion ignites the pages in a very sensual and tantalizing manner.
The author did a wonderful job of pulling me in, giving me that deeper connection that I look for with the characters, and as always, one heck of an adventure. Tess's and Kipp's adventure together is just getting started in Stolen Dreams. Many questions are answered while leaving others to be discovered further on into the series.
Stolen Dreams takes place in Memphis. I could just hear the soft southern twang of Tess each time she spoke.
Stolen Dreams is written in first person. Ms. Kennedy's first person has much improved since her Magical Sword series. While her other series was good, this time 'round the author did a great job of showing the story through Tess's point of view while not leaving out any of the secondary characters thoughts and actions in the story. As in her last books, Stolen Dreams was filled to the brim with high emotions, action and even sassy humor.
Tess was a heroine I didn't have a hard time connecting with. She was a down to earth woman dealing with an ability she didn't want, but kept a positive attitude about herself. She could have easily been a very negative character, but she always found the positive side of things. I was also drawn to her for the strength she showed during the more trying times in the story. Even though, at times, she laid her strength at the feet of denial just to push through, it took will power for her not to crumple under the stress and heart ache she experiences in Stolen Dreams. Kipp was an unusual hero that had me falling head over heels in love with him not long after meeting him. His swagger and charm didn't die along with him or his good looks for that matter. He definitely seduced my senses as he brought Tess closer to him with his warm personality. While I was rooting for the heroine, I kept turning the pages to see how the authors was going to handle bringing together Kipp, the ghost, and Tess, the girl who could see ghosts. I am anxious for more installments in this great series. These two characters have me wanting to know what happens next and what the author has planned for them both.
This new series from Stacey Kennedy has left me enchanted and wishing for more. I love finding a story that is unique, filled with passion, and has me turning pages as quickly a possible just to discover what happens next. Ms. Kennedy is a definite must have

WHO IS AUTHOR STACEY KENNEDY:
I love the paranormal romance/urban fantasy genre and love a series more!! Nothing can hook me in more than an adventure and one that keeps on going. I love a page turner, one where I’m up at a ridiculous time and my eyes burn because I can’t stop reading. Witty characters, dominant men, danger, action, romance and hot sex―oh my!
My novels are lighthearted fantasy, heart squeezing, thigh-clenching romance, and even give a good chuckle every now and again. I’m not a planner. I don’t write with a set idea because no matter what I plan, the characters’ voices always come through and demand I listen to them. So, I gave up trying to fight it!
