SUMMARY (taken from the author's site)
Amara Simmons has always fantasized about having two lovers but believes it is just that: a fantasy. She likes her men “gifted”, if you know what I mean. At the suggestion of a friend she registers for an online dating website for well-endowed men called betterthan8.com. She believes nothing will come of her site membership but after months of flirting online via email and instant messaging, she’s shocked to discover that she’s fallen for a gorgeous Latin man that has the potential to be her everything – except he never calls and she has no idea why. Nursing a broken heart she is totally unprepared to meet her would-be Latin lover in person much less at the negotiation table of a multi million-dollar real estate deal. In Puerto Rico, passion ignites. Promises are finally fulfilled and the lines of reality blur when her fantasy finally blooms to life. Can Amara have it all: the deal, the man, and the fantasy?

FAVORITE LINE:
"You're sending me into the lion's den, alone. You're giving me a night to get myself acclimated with the nuances of the conflict and the be able to work out a solution. On Top of that, you've put the success of a business deal that should have closed months ago along with potential future endeavors, all hinging on a deal you couldn't close yourself. So what do you do? You leave it up to some lackey to do it for you." ~ Amara

TEASER:
"I leave you alone for a few hours and you're hanging out with drug dealers?" Seva took a step toward me. My breath came short. I managed to finally speak. "I recall he phrased it as imports and exports." ~ Seva & Amara

PLOT:
Better Than 8 Fantasy is a story about finding love, risking rejection, and friendship. About knowing when to move on and when to go for that fantasy you never thought possible. I found myself halfway through the book before I realized it and wanted to continue long after my eyes demanded sleep. The author brought together wonderful characters filled with so much life and a plot that was interesting, eventually bringing everyone together. The only thing I found I didn't like about the story was how long it took to bring the hero and heroine together and the abrupt ending. While there were a few twists, both big and small to keep me wanting to flip the pages, I wanted more story after the major plot twist towards the end. No spoilers as usual, but the ending epilogue was just not enough bring the story to a satisfactory closing for the main characters. That aside, the emotions were intense and the feelings seeped right off the page and into my heart. While the sex scenes were erotic and hot, given the title and concept of the book I would have loved to get Amara's deeper emotions and thoughts on Seva during the hotter moments. In this case, the devil's in the details in erotic romance!

SETTING:
The larger part of the story takes place in the town of Mountain View, California, but the heat really kicks up once Amara travels to Puerto Rico to fix more than one problem in her life,... albeit unknowingly to her.

WRITING:
For a debut author, Erin Jamison did a very nice job of bringing a story to life. Giving it depth and emotion that had me reading long into the night and into the wee hours of the morning. I did find several grammatical errors throughout the book and misspelled words. There were also a few instances of omitted words that needed to be included, however I am not one to set a book aside because of these issues. I can't give it a very high review rating because of it, but the story is still strong and very enjoyable. On that note, I think the author has a very promising future in romance writing!

CHARACTERS:
I found Amara to be a well rounded heroine with a strong will backed up by morals that helped guide her through her life. I enjoyed how modern and accepting she was of those around her as well. She followed her heart on many occasion, opening herself for love to flow into her life. However she didn't let anyone walk all over her. When decisions had to be made she surprised me by taking a firm grip on what she wanted and let the other side either deal with it or move on. This goes for her business relationships and romantic relationships. And I couldn't help but be intrigued with the male protagonist, Seva. The way he came across to Amara throughout the book really built up my anticipation for how the author was going to bring him together with Amara. I only wish  he could have been given some more page time in the 'flesh' so to speak, instead of through email and instant messaging. And I also loved Renaldo 'Naldo' Martinez. The man that throws the story for a hot and sexy twist towards the end of the story. He also deserved more page time. There was so much more to discover about him.

LAST THOUGHTS:
I recommend this book to all those that love reading about fantasies coming true. About strong heroines and men that make them feel wanted and loved. I definitely look forward to reading Ms. Jamison's next installment to her Better Than 8 Fantasy series!
