Hi everyone! Please help me welcome author K.T. Grant to the blog today. She's on a month long book tour to spread the word about her erotic romance short story, Alana's Surrender, and has written a fabulous guest post for us to share in with her.
Welcome Ms. Grant!
When it comes to an unconventional romance, especially an erotic romance, in some cases there will be more than two people involved in the romantic aspect of the story. A ménage, aka a threesome has become very popular in recent years were the majority of these ménages, or at least the ones I’ve read, involve two men who share a woman together. Sometimes the relationship will continue with all three parties together after the story ends. In other cases, the woman will choose one of the men to be with instead of being with both.
How does an author go about writing a ménage love scene? It all starts with the central character of the story, and whether this character is open to the idea of being intimate with not only one person, but two, and if they’re comfortable with having sex with these two people at the same time. Let’s say the central character is the heroine. She ends up being attracted to two men and can’t decide who she wants to be with. From there, and if the author can write it well enough, both men are willing to share the woman and they all end up together in an erotically charged and emotional love scene where pleasure is given and equally taken. A writer must also keep in mind there are boundaries and respect and care should be expected from all parties involved. I prefer a ménage love scene that can lead to some laughs between the three, but also shows how passionate the encounter can be. It’s all about having fun and enjoying one’s self.
When I came up with the idea for Alana’s Surrender, I wanted to create a realistic portrayal of a woman who’s attracted to two men, and how those two men, both are which are good friends, are willing to share this woman. They want to make her happy and give her pleasure, but are also aware she may not want to be with both of them and may chose one man to be with when all is said and done.
Sharing is caring and double the fun is my idea of what a ménage entails. Sometimes it’s tricky to explain what body parts are which character’s and who is kissing whom, but if written well, a ménage romance can really open a reader’s eyes to countless possibilities when it comes to passion and intimacy, and again the most important part- sharing.
