Star- if the book had poor plotting, written poorly, unrealistic characters, badly edited or boring and only earns 1 ‘book’ I will not be posting a review about this book. I believe in the saying, if you have nothing nice to say don’t say anything at all. And spreading negative book reviews does not help anyone.
Stars- if the book was not memorable, pacing or poor writing caused skimming, minor editing glitches, but you’re able to finish reading the book/would not re-read and would borrow instead of buy
Stars- Good/enjoyable and had a good plot/little to no editing problems/believable characters with strong conflict that fit to the story line that when the story loses pace or falters you are still able to pick it up and be pulled back in. You would recommend this book to a friend but would not put it in your ‘keeper’ pile
Stars- Really Good book that you would line up to get signed by the author when she/he comes to town. A definite re-read that you would recommend to your friends with a very solid plot line, good conflict that keeps your attention and won’t let you go and likable characters and clean editing causing no glitches or hang-ups to slow the pace and you liked the writing style and voice
Stars- Truly exceptional and an excellent read, you loved the writing style and voice, and had superb editing/ you loved the plot and characters and would look for this author’s next book with anticipation. You would look for this author’s back list and place her on auto-buy. You would recommend this author to all your friends and feel lucky you were the one reviewing this book and would most definitely buy the book, placing it on you ‘keeper’ shelf!
